Just when you thought it couldn't get any better - here comes netViz 6.0.

You won't want to miss out on these great new features (the following list assumes you already have a good working knowledge of netViz):

Over 20,000 Network Graphics! - We've teamed with Altima Technologies, maker of NetZoom symbols, to provide you with a wealth of vendor-specific network graphics. Included in every box of netViz 6.0 is a "NetZoom for netViz CD" containing over 10,000 vendor-specific graphics for you to use freely in your netViz projects. When you add the symbols in our own updated database, you'll have a total of over 21,000 graphics to choose from. If that's not enough, you'll be able to buy the entire "NetZoom for netViz" collection of over 40,000 graphics.

Drag and Drop Graphics From Virtually Anywhere - netViz diagrams typically contain graphics of vendor-specific network equipment. In earlier versions of netViz, users were limited to using (1) graphics from the collection supplied with netViz software and (2) individual graphic files otherwise accessible to the user.

With netViz 6.0, users can drag graphics into a diagram from other applications, or even from Web pages! All you need to do is open an application that has graphics (like Visio®, PowerPoint® or any clip art collection), select a graphic and drag it on to a netViz diagram. netViz will automatically add it to the internal palette and the project catalog. Once it's in your project, you can add whatever data fields you like.

Display any Field in the Hierarchy Browser - In prior versions of netViz, an object's key field (the blue one) was the field displayed as the node name in the Hierarchy Browser. This could be inconvenient when, for example, the key field was a number (due to database schema requirements) or when the information you really wanted displayed in the Hierarchy Browser (like location, contact name or IP address) was down the list from the key field. The only way to display the desired field was to reorganize the object fields. In netViz 6.0, you can set any field to be the one that's displayed in the Hierarchy Browser. Just go to the catalog screen, right click on the desired field and select "Display in Browser."

Multiple Top Levels - In all prior netViz versions, users were required to start all projects from a single top level. Beginning with version 6.0, we add significant functionality by allowing projects to have multiple top levels, all of which can be named by the user. Multiple top levels are great for projects that depict the same objects in different ways. Here are some examples: logical and physical network views, network discovery data and asset-management data, existing network configuration and proposed design changes. In conjunction with this feature, we also now allow the name of a project's original top level to be changed.

More Link Styles - Links are critical for visualizing relationships. In previous versions of netViz, link styles were limited. Users could select a link thickness, but only for solid lines. Different line styles could be used, but only in a predefined thickness. We've changed all that in version 6.0. The style and thickness of any link can now be set independently. The result - more flexibility for users.
