Once you’ve used netViz to model your vision, you’ll need to communicate that vision to others. Many diagramming tools have HTML-publishing options, but all they do is allow you to distribute flat, empty drawings. Only netViz allows you to publish your diagrams along with their hierarchies and embedded data, so that anyone with access to a Web browser can fully understand your entire model.

With our Web-publishing server software (available separately), one command generates a Web-server database from your netViz documentation. People accessing this graphical database through a Web browser see not only your drawings, but can also navigate the project's vertical hierarchy and view all embedded data for every object. Web publishing supports SQL databases on Windows 95, 98 and NT servers.

With our just-released new version, you can do some great things right from a Web-browser:

  • Just rest your pointer on a node or link and instantly see the user-defined data for that object.
  • Double click on a node to drill down one level.
  • Do data searches over the Web directly from a diagram. Search for
  • Any object or link by name or data value;
  • All objects of a specific type;
  • All objects that have specified text or numerical values in a key field or other field.

By the way - we've got other ways for you distribute your netViz projects. Just pick the one that's right for you:

  • HTML export Publish your project in HTML format. Anyone can see your project diagrams but won't have access to the underlying data.
  • PowerPoint export With a single command, your entire project is exported to PowerPoint. Your diagrams appear as a PowerPoint presentation, with navigation buttons automatically placed so that you can easily travel up and down the project hierarchy!

A note to users of Web Publishing Server Software 1.0: In order to view projects published with netViz version 4.03.00 (build 511m) and above, you will need to update to Web Publishing Server Software 1.5 (free update, see product updates page) or upgrade to Web Publishing Server Software 2.0
